Yamaha FS1E - G476 XMP

Full Restoration and conversion from 90's to 70's look-a-like

Looked quite good on initial purchase, but lack of engine maintenance became clear and the chance to get a clean 70's tank led to the conversion

After a couple of hours clearning this is how the bike arrived
Looks quite good for a 22 year old bike
but
electrics didn't work
forks were bent
brakes didn't work
and as for the engine internals - see below
Head light bowl, top yolk and various fittings repainted and polished

Head light ears, clock mount and various other fitting repainted and polished

Yolks painted, leavers and handle bar controls polished
New ignition switch
New front and rear guards - Frame not repainted as good condition
Engine had to be stripped as only had 2 gears, the mess inside was one of the worse I've seen, but was only oil sludge and degreased quite easily
Gear shafts freed up and all cleaned and check ok, new bearings and crank
All new seals and a 60cc barrel and head and piston kit
Repainted engine covers, new airfilter box and unique modified oil tank, new footrest and kick start rubbers
Rims polished, each spoke removed and polished, new chain guard
Same treament for the front wheel
Finished bike with new seat and repainted tank and panels from a 70's bike
Beautiful paint work from SPA Engineering
