Suzuki GT200 X5 - SDX 469W

Full Concourse Restoration

Always wanted one as I had one at 17, this one was found at Newark Auto Jumble and had been part of a house clearance. Not in too bad shape but need a full restoration to get to the standard I needed

This is how the bike arrived, original unrestored and used condition
The pictures below show the restoration steps this bike has gone through
Fully stripped down
Frame and bits ready to go to SPA for blasting and painting
Engine ready for a strip down and rebuild
Frame back from painting and assembled into a rolling chassis
Wheels and hubs polished, repainted, new sprocket and shock absorbers
Clocks stripped, cleaned and repainted, all plastics original
Handlebars polished, controls stripped and cleaned, original helmet lock included
 New replacement front indicators
New front tyre, polished fork bottoms and re chromed stanchions
Polished rear brake plate and new rear tyre
Rear light assemble stripped cleaned and repainted, new rear indicators
Chrome work back from Marque Restorations
Paintwork back from KAS Race Paints
Engine rebuilt with new crank bearings and rods, seals and bearings
Re-bored with new pistons and rings
Airbox cleaned and installed with new filter
Oil tank and wiring loom installed
Engine installed, cases repainted, new Suzuki decals
Carburettors blasted with new internals
Front caliper repainted and new piston and seals
All finished, starts on the button and rides really well
Trip down memory lane, this is the bike I owned in 1979
